This was the smoothest election I can recall and it’s all because of using mail in ballots, by far the safest and efficient way to do it. As usual, the exact opposite of what the Repugs claimed.
Would not having a uniform system, the same rules across the country, for this national election, facilitate the ballot? We can also ask the question of making citizens vote for a ballot where a candidate can have fewer votes than his opponent and succeed in winning the election...

This makes sense, certainly, but it is not the method laid-out in the Constitution, where states are given control of the process. Only an amendment to the Constitution can cure this, and many states will not allow that to happen.
